Client Focus
How I choose clients, what I ask in return, and the shapes engagements take.
I do what I can to help the clients that make their way to where I can really offer unique value, and I ask that clients meet certain qualifications to respect the resource for everyone.
1) Availability & trust
You're willing to make yourself and your team available — time and honest, emotional presence — for the most important conversations, in a timely and genuinely cooperative way.
2) You value values
You're interested in better understanding process and learning about values as a way to arrive at a framework for aligned decision-making now and well into the future. If you just want a tactic without the underlying work, we're not the right match.
3) Professional is personal
The clients I enjoy working with are ones who see that who you are and your worldview is intrinsic to business leadership and business outcomes — which means both are on the table when we work.
In practice I focus on advising/coaching and team dynamics.
Areas of focus
Decision Making & Advising — for leaders and small executive teams sitting with high-stakes, hard-to-reverse choices. Sometimes what's needed is a second set of eyes; sometimes it's a structured process to decide well when the answer isn't obvious.
Executive Coaching — one-to-one over a defined period, in service of a specific inflection point (a new role, a scaling business, a values realignment, a hard conversation you've been avoiding). Not open-ended.
Organizational Suicide & Burnout Prevention — for organizations whose people are the product, where the erosion happens quietly and shows up late. Training, protocol, and post-incident work.
Team Workshops — small groups, typically executive or leadership tier, on discernment, values-work, and decision-making under pressure. Half-day to two-day formats.
Sample Domains
A partial sampling of the professional communities I've worked with — not an exhaustive list, just where the practice has clustered so far:
Boards of directors — small to medium-sized businesses and non-profits.
C-suite leaders at SaaS and virtual-service providers (CEOs, CFOs, CHROs, CMOs, COOs, and other CxOs).
Dental practices — general dentists, orthodontists, periodontists, endodontists, oral surgeons, pediatric dentists, and prosthodontists.
Mental-health professionals — psychiatrists, psychologists, psychotherapists, LCSWs, counselors, and behavioral / cognitive-behavioral therapists.
Allied health — pharmacists, occupational therapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, and nurse practitioners.
Practice managers, office managers, clinical directors, HR directors, and clinical operations managers — the operating spine of professional-services organizations.
How engagements typically start
A short conversation (usually 30–45 minutes) to see whether we're a fit for what you're trying to do. No fee.
